Splinters

I wonder, does anyone really ever know Y-O-U?
Not the Y-O-U in front of your family or your friends.

The Y-O-U behind the face.
The Y-O-U who is your thoughts and feelings.
The Y-O-U who Y-O-U go to bed with every night.

The Y-O-U who knows your greatest fears and regrets.
The Y-O-U who is too scared to speak out.
The Y-O-U filled with worries and doubts.
The Y-O-U overflowing with sadness.

We splinter different parts of ourselves.
But at what cost?
When we may ultimately lose the real Y-O-U…
