Face On

Get up,
It’s that time again,
Wash your face and worries away and face the day,
Get dressed,
Dress your face with a smile,
Plastered on and steady,
Stable and resilient,
Those are the traits people want to see,
Not cracking or vulnerable,
Eat breakfast,
Wash it down with my feelings,
Sprinkle on some positivity and shake off the woes,
Get in the car and drive away the negative feelings or worry and doubt,
Turn the music up and tune it all out,
Show the world the face you have put on,
The external persona they will accept and be comfortable with,
Balled up and packed in so very tightly, it’s a wonder you feel at all,
Finishing the day, to do it all over again…
