Blackpool Zoo

I suppose it was about time I pressed publish on this post; we went to Blackpool Zoo back in September and I’ve been procrastinating ever since. So, as the year is almost over, I figure I best get my butt in gear and post my outstanding posts, because they’re well overdue. And like they say, if it’s not posted, did it actually happen?!

“Some Kinda Bird”

“Some Kinda Bird”
Oddly, as much as I like nature, I’m not much of a “bird” lover, I don’t hate them, but unless they’re colourful- they kinda all look the same to me.

“Pelican”

“Pelican”
Not gonna lie, this shot had me a bit scared. There was a pelican enclosure and as we approached, there were loads by the fence. I took it upon my nosy self to try to touch one, mainly because I found the texture of their beak really interesting. This particular pelican was very patient and let us touch it and I even got this and many other shots. I wanted to make it somewhat different, so chose to edit it in b&w, making it was more dramatic (I hope). But, I have to say I am really impressed with the shot!

“Yellow”
Taking a break from the animals to add some colour to this post, because why not and if you know me, you know I love me some colour, especially if they’re flowers! For the win!

“Emperor Tamarind”

“Emperor Tamarind”
Can you find a cuter animal? I mean…out of all the animals we spotted in the zoo (and there were many), this one was by far my favourite.

“Pelican 2”

“Pelican 2”
I really am proud of the shots I got of the pelicans, that I had to share yet another one. I love the curves and the details in the feathers and the beak, despite being a bit scared of it in the 1st place. But, they really are beautiful creatures.

“Lilipad”
Although the water was fully murky and it was really hard to spot the fish in there, but it’s still a nice filler shot…at least I think it is.

“Wings”

“Wings”
We got to see a really amazing “bird show” at the zoo, it was really hard to get a good shot of the birds mid- flight, mostly because I couldn’t predict where they were going to land. LOL, but also I don’t have THOSE kinds of lenses. I opted for one where you could see just how beautiful and colourful they are.

“Zebra”

“Zebra”
One of the animals Neveah couldn’t wait to see, was an elephant and zebra! It took us almost all of the day to finally get to its enclosure but I think it was worth it…it didn’t really do much- lol. Also, am I the only one who hears Chris Rock when they see a zebra?

“Penguins”

“Penguins”
Who doesn’t like penguins…I mean really? They are the cutest things and these ones were totally playing for the cameras and people. There were windows in their pool and they loved diving down and gliding past the windows, to the awe of the kids. It was so cute and fun to watch.

“Primate”

“Primate”
Not sure the name of this primate, but it was really cute and I couldn’t help myself…I mean…
