Bubbling, gurgling up around me
Feeling like I am barely gathering air,
Struggling to catch my breath,
Just floating in water,
Waves crash over me,
Their force knocking the wind out of my lungs,
Ebbing and flowing through me like blood,
Seeking, searching for something to grab onto,
Looking for some comfort and support,
But the water just keeps coming,
Trying to suppress the feelings of doubt and fear in my throat,
I can taste its acid, burning a hole in my chest,
Attempting to make itself at home within me,
Washing over me like air,
Bubbling along the edges,
Fizzing, eating away at my core,
But I take a deep breath and push it all down,
I am stronger than all of my fears and doubts.
